The only reason ppl voted for Rudd is because like Howard, he stands for sensible policies.

As for spending taxpayer's money on political ads, the only reason you complain about that is because the Greens never will because they will never form Government.

That of course dosen't change the fact its wrong. It is however indulgent to attack the major parties for it merely because you are with The Greens.

How would you know? You not only don't have some special insight into the "people who voted for Rudd", but I doubt very much that you are even one of them.

Again with Leon's psychic insights. You are wrong, of course.

Government spending of taxpayers' money on political ads is wrong, full stop.

If the Greens reached government and did it, I'd still be opposed. It's wrong.

It counts strongly against any party which is so corrupt as to do it.

Hey Jeremy,

Best of luck on the new blog - I really enjoy Lefty and will be a regular reader of this one. I'm a Labor branch member and consider it my and our duty to do exactly this - keep the party and its leaders accountable and in line with the values of the membership (hence my own, admittedly very inferior, blog).

As you say, there will be too many people trying to score political points against Rudd, but some sober analysis of the realities, even in the less sexy policy areas, will be very welcome.

This site is a great idea Lefty.

I look forward to a forum where we can discuss progressive politics and government performance without the constant distraction of conservative trolls trying to disrupt the thread.

Should be very interesting.

I'm considering setting this up on wordpress, because blogger's commenting facility is pretty blunt and unwieldy. It doesn't even have an RSS feed.
